(I just copied my post over here, and input would be great, I am just so lost right now, thanks)

Hi Everyone, well I posted here a few weeks back, my new years resolution was to finally go to a dr and see what is wrong with me. Well I went last night and now I just don't know if I will go back... he handed me a form to fill out... questions...well as soon as I saw it I knew it was for depression... could he be right could all the symptoms be from depression.. I just feel crazy now... It was my first time in years to go... he has asked me to go back on monday for a physical... I haven't had one in 21 years so I guess it is time. But now I just think he thinks I am crazy and well I want to just forget about the whole thing.. I am really thinking about canceling.
Here are the symptoms I told him about:
*White fog over my eyes
* Blurry vision, night driving is really bad.
*I have been having issues speaking
*Memory
* Fatigue.
*overheat
*Anxiety
*Feet fall asleep a lot
*When walking actually have to think about lifting my feet.
*Heavy legs.
*Very emotional.. can cry so easy I think I am pregnant!
*hearing is bad, worse at times (progressive for the last 3-4 years)
*High pitched noise in ears sometimes
*I get numb fingers and toes and pins and needles ( and down the side of my hands and feet)
*Weakness in hands
*light headed.
*Pain in my feet when I stand up after sitting for a while or sleeping. At times it is very intense.
*My legs down to my feet hurt from too much walking or standing. Not throbbing pain, constant.
*hard to concentrate/pay attention.
*People can tell me things and it is like it went in one ear and out the other... I didn't get any point, I have no idea what they were telling me.
*Pain/crampy in muscles and joints.
*Frequent Urination,
*Constipation
*Problems swallowing, like something is stuck at times
*Depression, Mood swings, lack of Libido.

Could this all be in my head... I am not a hypochondriac... I am never sick... now I just feel dumb....
Any input would be great.
thanks
Paula

Hi Paula you are not alone with your symptoms...I to have a lot of your same symptoms. You should not cancel your appointment it is very important for you to get these things looked at. If this doctor does not give you the answers you are looking for find a new doctor. I cannot tell you how many doctors I have been to .... But I did finally get some answers to what is going on. I was dx with fibro last year. The medications he put me on helps. I finally sleep better and the pain is not as bad as it first was. With some of your symptoms I would really have them do a MRI, just to make sure it is not some thing else. Are your weak muscles all of the time or does it come and go? Depression can cause a lot of symptoms and it is hard not to be depressed when you have no idea what is going on with your body. But please know that you are not alone and you are not crazy. Don't cancel your appointment and demand that the doctor does all the necessary tests to rule out other possible things. GOOD LUCK!

welcome friend,
go thru the old posts and find one labeled "the list". fill it out and take it to your next appt. have your physical and ask the doc to look over the pages you brought. depression can be an aspect of fms. it does not go hand in hand. nor does depression cause fms or vise versa.
keep us posted.
peace,
bluelakelady

I hope you don't cancel your appointment. It is important to get to the bottom of this, and it may even take more than one visit or maybe more than one doctor to get an answer. You are not crazy!
You are also not alone in your symptoms, I have virtually every one of those and have had them since my last child was born three years ago.
I have heard so many guesses as to what it might be, from hormonal, to bi-polar, to depression, to one doctor saying I might have a personality disorder so he put me on a bunch on meds that really screwed me up (he was a resident psychiatrist! and thought he knew it all). After a couple years of therapy and finding nothing mentally wrong except for possible depression due to my physcial state I decided to see an internist. He thought I had Lupus, he was wrong and after the tests came back negative he sent me on my way and told me to just deal with it. Well I am not giving up now that I have found so many others here are suffering from the same symptoms. I was told I should try to find a Rheumatologist or and Osteopathic doc specializing in Endocrinology. That is my next step. Hang in there...always here to lend an ear...

Hi coldpro,
As we get older our body is like a car, needs fine tuning. If you haven`t been to a dr for that long i really think you should have a good check up. They can rule out alot of things. Its no need to worry about what you might have just go see. I do have most of the things that you have listed also. My feet and legs feel like that I have disc problems in my back and also diabetes that would both make them feel like that. I now know to watch my sugar. I also felt like I was crazy before due to going to one dr after the other. Each one had their opinion. So if I would you i`d go to an internist. I have had depression most of my life and have to take medication from time to time. I had a dr tell me one time its like treating any illness except some time we have to take medication a little longer. But I really would go to the dr if I were you. You have really been blessed not having to go for so many years. Write and let us know how it turns out we are here for you.......jbot
