I have a friend that was diagnosed in december with bladder cancer and has been ungoing chemo for thae cancer now she tells me that there is a tumor in her liver and that there are lesions on the outside of the liver does that mean it has metatisized? If so how long can one live with this?

Your questions are hard to answer.

Tumors aren't always cancerous. I have a friend that had liver cancer and survived.

Attitude is a big part of survival with cancer patients. So is nutrition despite what the doc's all say.

I have read about people that were given a death sentence and those people are still alive 10 years later.

Slr is exactly right! Tumours aren't always cancerous. A malignant tumour is a cancerous one. Okay, so, if your friend had bladder carcinoma and there are now lesions on the outside of the liver, yes, that means that it metastasized because the chances of having a primary on the liver AND a primary in the bladder is very slim.

Another note, you know that this is cancerous, because metastasis (and invasion) are properties of cancerous tumours--not non-cancerous ones.

thats what I suspected the dr wanted her to have another cat scan right away but she said that she is going to vermont to see her mother and she would have it done when she returns I am sure that she also is sure it has metastasied... thansk for your input

Wait. Just because there are lesions on the outside of the liver does not mean metastisis.

My spouse had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Then a peg tube was placed which caused excruciating pain and after a trip to the ER and 4 days in the hospital, they had done another cat scan and found lesions on the outside of the liver and in the stomach.

After a big scare and a pet scan, it was determined that the lesions were not cancerous.

i spoke with my friend the other day she now has about 9 tumors on her liver it seems as though every time they run more cat scans and ultraasounds on the liver there are more and these are hard tumors she sees the dr on tuesday she is most likely going to have a biopsy. her origin of the cancer is the bladder in which sh ee is still recieving chemo.[SIZE=2]
