I have a problem washing my hands in water that is room temptature. It feels like it shocks all my system. Some times it sends a shiver through me. I can`t stand to get in a tub unless the water is luke warm. It feels like my skin hurts if the wind from the ceiling fan blows on me. Some times if i`m sitting in the lounge chair and the ceiling fan is on everytime the air passes over my legs and feet it cause pain like some one pooring ice water over me. I have to wear socks summer and winter. I can`t walk across a floor my feet feels like they are walking in fire. I guess I can say all my skin is very sensitive to hot or cold. And it doesn`t have to be ice cold or heated water. One day I leaned up against the ice box with my arm and my arm felt like someone threw cold water down to me feet. This is the strangest thing I have ever had. The dr said it was nerve pain but I don`t know if thats ture or she just made it up as the answer. So please if you or bother my hot/cold/warm/cool/ against your skin let me know so i will know i`m not crazy. Or maybe that I am. I can take my make up off my face anymore with cream because when I get it on my face my whole body starts getting cold, Thank you for reading about this crazy question. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.......................jb

Oh hon, so sorry you are suffering so much. Yes ive been diagnosed by 3 doctors as having fibro. My SKIN HURTS. Its my nerves as well they say. Apparently fibro sometimes destroys or harms nerve endings (going by what the docs said, not my own research) and you end up with skin feeling like its burning. Sometimes it runs along your arms length. Mine runs from around under my arm pit down the elbow , to the wrist area. Then on my left shoulder/neck area. Then on my left waist/hip area. Sometimes the right side is affected but mostly the left. Its getting bad enough to where its heading up the neck up to the left ear.
Right now im in a bad flareup due to stress (my parents caretaker), havent had time off, and the weather is bad. SO i totally understand. Not sure what they can do. I dont do anything for it, specific, i do take my lortab plus soma and cymbalta every single day. Talk to your doctor, maybe he can give you something for it, mine doesnt know what to give me other than neurotin or i think thats the name cant spell it. That does fix the problem but makes my brain feel like something is crawling around up there. Real creepy feeling and i just couldnt get used to the side effect. Good luck hon, maybe youll get some more answers on here to your question.

jbot,
I also have this skin pain. It isn't a constant thing, but occasionally happens. It's mainly on my calves. It will feel as if my skin is burning. It's cool to the touch but "feels" hot. Does that make sense? It's not a comfortable feeling or one I can do anything about. It just has to pass.
God bless, Jen
