Hey Lisa, Many opiates cause a hystamine relese which causes wrestlessness, anxiety, the jitters, itching and insomna. It just depends on the persons indiviual reose to each med.

Before calling your doc and making a big fuss and asking for another precription med to help with sleep, try something simple like tylenol PM, The active ingredient is just plain old benedry "an anti-hystamine"l which will suffice at 1/6t the cost of tylenol PM. See if an antihystamine
helps and next time you talk to your doc ask him what He thiks is the better med to treat opiate inuced Insomnia. Some of the other meds used for sleep like Elevill and trazadone can help folks sleep but don't adress the hystamine release from opiates.
Good luck, Dave
