Just received a letter from my radiologist suggesting that a follow-up mam be performed in 6mos to recheck an area of possible concern. This is a precautionary measure and does not indicate a definite problem. Please interpret. What does "possible concern" mean.

It means they probably found something different from your last mammo, but not significant enough to warrant an immediate recheck.

Just be sure you schedule your next one so that you have just finished your period to decrease the possibility of cysts showing up.

And you can always call either your doc or the radiologist and say "explain this to me."
