Hello,
I am new to the boards and I have been looking for the correct place to make my post. Please let me know if you think it would be better to ask in a different location.
I have been having abdominal pain since last night. The pain is located in the area below my belly button. The reason I thought it might be bowel related was the last bowel movement I had before the pain was diarreha. The pain happened about 2 hours after the diarreha though.
Diarreha is not abnormal for me ritght now because I'm on Metformin (one of the side effects is diarreha), it is a drug for insulin resistance (i;m not diabetic - this just helps my periods be normal). I have normally have diarreha one time a week. Never before have I had the pain though, nor do I know if they are related or not.
The pain came on suddenly and was very sharp. If I push slightly on my abdomin it hurt. When walking with my back straight, it also hurts.
Any thoughts?
Thank you,
Melissa

Pain that starts at or around the belly button can be appendicitis. Please go get it checked out, as a ruptured appendix is very serious. It can be accompanied by nausea/vomiting/diarreah- but isn't always
