I have finally received my last chemo treatment last Friday. I was in bed all this week but I feel much better now. My blood count was OK for the first time in three weeks and we did not have to wait another week. Well, chemo was not easy at all and it is finished now. I should be normally celebrating this but, I feel more up in the air, or some like in shock. Did any of you feel this way ?

I will start with Tamoxifen now for 5 years. How long did you wait after the chemo to start with Tamoxifen ?

Another thing in my mind now is the periodic scans. I read a few articles that scanning is not the best method for finding the metastases, but physical examination of the doctor and one's own control over body is important. I need your advice whom has had meet with metastases, how you have been diagnosed ?

Your support and advice are important for me.

Take care.

Just when the world should be rosey and beautiful... My cousin just finished radiation therapy for grade 4 ca of the cervix. She thought she would be able to reclaim her life. She now has been diagnosed with clinical depression and is having great difficulty functioning. This is not to say that this will happen to you.
Me. I'm still waiting on a diagnosis.
Good luck,

I was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 2 in 1999. My doctor gave me 3 months to live if I did have the surgery. Because I have a very rapid growing cancer. I had 17 lymph nodes removed all negative. I have a 2 cm tumor when first diagnosed by the time I received surgery 2 weeks later it had grown to 5cm. I received 6 cyles of chemo and 31 treatments of radiation. I have been on tamoxifin for over a year. The main problem I have found is hot flashes. I too fell into depression. and I have lost a lot of energy. now I have peripherial neuropathy and carpal tunnel syndrom little side effects of the chemo they don't tell you about. and will have to have more surgery. Some days are a real struggle but I get through and so will you. I get scans ct scan of the entire body bone scans and x rays every six months along with a mammogram. this can be a tramatic experience because you never know what they will find. and I hold my breath every time I go to my oncologist after these scans for the results. but It is something I must deal with. Once you put it in your mind you are going to deal with this you can. even with all my complications I push on everyday. believe me you can do it. good luck
