I had an ultrasound that revealed a golf ball size cyst on my right ovary. I am on compounded hormone creams estrogen and progesterone since a month now..Could this regime have caused this cyst? How is this cyst treated? What meds? I took the bcpill last year but i simply could not tolerate it. It was called "alesse"...I am open for any other ways to rid it, because although i feel no pain from it, i am extremely bloated in my abdomen and my lower back aches alot...thanks for your advise..

Ovarian cancer is an insidious disease. If your doctor cannot say emphatically that you do not have it, then I would insist on furthur tests. A CA125 test would be helpful. If this protein found in the blood is at an elevated level, then furthur tests should be done. Be sure that you mention the bloating. DO NOT WAIT. Get answers now!!!
I have ovarian cancer and will probably die from it because, unfortunately, it did not respond fully to chemotherapy. If I had detected it sooner, my prognosis would probably be better. Good luck!
