I've been looking for a good mascara for years - I still have not found a really good one. I recently tried Lancome and hated it - thick and clumpy - any suggestions? Over the counter or otherwise??

jean527 01-24-2005, 05:39 PM I've been looking for a good mascara for years - I still have not found a really good one. I recently tried Lancome and hated it - thick and clumpy - any suggestions? Over the counter or otherwise?? Sponsor Steuby 01-24-2005, 05:46 PM I have tried quite a few mascaras in my day, including Lancome...and have never found anything better than Maybelline Great Lash. I like the curved -brushed one. I have found one trick that helps with the clumpiness....I take out the brush and roll in lightly in a tissue before using. It makes a big difference. vboredatwork 01-25-2005, 09:43 AM Fantastic Lash by Cover Girl. I stray and try other brands sometimes but I always come back to this. Sugar64 01-25-2005, 01:23 PM I always go back to Full n Soft by Maybelline, 2000 Calorie by Max Factor, or Voluminous by L'Oreal...all great masaras. princessdani 01-25-2005, 02:13 PM Loreal panoramic curl mellowfish 01-25-2005, 02:29 PM I absolutely love the Full and Soft by Maybelline too, and also Maybelline's Illegal Lengths. GeorgiaGrown 01-25-2005, 05:59 PM L'Oreal Double Extend.. Though I only sometimes use the 'extender' applicator. jean527 01-25-2005, 07:50 PM thanks so much! I think I'll print this out and take it with me so I can remember!! KarinaMay 01-25-2005, 11:05 PM I like Clinique's mascara....I forget the kind. It's in the light green bottle. :) Need informatio 01-26-2005, 02:14 AM I am forever searching for a good marscara. I tried one from Perscriptives called fake eye lash or something like that. It really makes your lashes fuller and in my opinion is better than any over the counter stuff. CorieLynn 01-27-2005, 11:33 AM Loreal Voluminous is the best mascara I've found so far...even over more expensive department store brands. It really makes my lashes look fuller and longer. Poofy 02-01-2005, 07:55 PM Clinique full potential, I like it alot, only about $12.00- good luck ali_moran 02-02-2005, 01:26 PM I have tried just about every mascara out there and the only one that I have found that doesn't clump and still comes off easily with water and soap is Endless Performance by Mary Kay. It has a curled lash brush and it works beautifully. fiejenn1 02-02-2005, 05:04 PM voluminous or 2000 calorie Drakes_mom 02-02-2005, 05:22 PM I thought, after all I had read, that Maybelline would be great. Imagine my surprise when at least one of the packages ( Great Lash?) listed petroleum distillate as an ingredient! People tend to be highly allergic to this ( you find it in cleaning products and solvents usually). I have never had a problem with Clinique , and stick with them. Jenteal 02-02-2005, 09:23 PM I only use Almay One Coat, I get asked all the time for the brand name of my mascara. Washed off with soap and water and does not clump. Jenteal greeneyes100 02-09-2005, 12:59 PM Lancome makes some excellent mascaras. My favorite is Amplicils (it's also waterproof); makes your lashes really thick and doesn't smudge. SophiaM 03-13-2005, 01:14 PM It all depends on what effect you're trying to achieve. If you have long eyelashes which are fine (like mine), I would recommend Loreal's Voluminous (the one in a golden tube also makes your lashes really soft--I really like that one), and Loreal's Double Extend. They do start to clump after a couple of months, so you might have to change them often, but at that price, you can afford to do that. Mascara shouldn't really be kept longer than 3-6 months, especially if you have sensitive eyes or wear contact lenses. Oh, Diorshow by Dior is also excellent but it's very expensive, about $23-25, so I just stick to Loreal. |
