View Full Version : Infected corn?

The 2nd toe on my right foot has (what I think) a corn on the top of the toe. It now looks red and inflamed on the bottom and yellow on top. It is very painful and I can hardly walk in a normal shoe.

Do corns get infected? What can the doctor do for this? Should I be on an antibiotic?

Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on this painful toe.

I've had problems with corns for years, I know the pain. The Dr. can trim it down but it will grow back. Not much to do about them except get a bigger or deeper shoe, try wrapping it with cotton or lambs wool for protection. My Dr. told me to rub castor oil on them to soften them. DO NOT use corn remover, it will make it worse! Try a pumic stone after soaking.

Thanks Seashell1.

I went to the Family Doctor yesterday andshe put me on an antibiotic. Hopefully the Podiatrist can trim it next week and I will be sure to keep it wrapped most of the time. Bummer....
