I have dry, curly hair. I also color ir every few months, or so. I am looking for a super creamy moisturizing conditioner ( salon and or store brand). I have tried all the pantene, etc.. Most of the store brands do not help. Any suggestions? thanks

If you really want a good conditioner, use a good shampoo as well. Try Therepy and Humectress, by Nexxus. Look for these in a professional salon, like JC Penney, the Green Door, something like that. I have dry, curly hair also and these are the best for moisturizing I have found, second best Paul Mitchell Daily Moisture Shampoo and rinse. Actually, it's very good and not as heavy. Professional products are very concentrated, so remember to use a very little bit of them, that way they won't be so heavy on your hair. And when you have time, leave the conditoner on your hair for about 3 min. for a little deeper conditioning!!! Worked at JCPenney salon for about 10 years! Wink! Good luck.

you should try Herbal essences for color treated hair as a shampoo and then Thermasilk for conditioner also the one for color treated hair!

I really like Nexxus Humectress because you can leave it in. I pour about a teaspoon into my hands and smooth it through my hair before combing it after a shower. Even my teenage daughter compliments me on how great my hair looks... and she's a tough critic!

Save your money on all that expensive stuff. I have the same problem and this is what I do:

After you wash and condition your hair, towel dry. You can use a cheap shampoo and cheap conditioner. Take some Suave lotion, yes LOTION, and put it in your hair. Then get some TCB Hair Food. It is like vaseline and is in a jar. Put some of that in the palm of your hand, dime size, and mix with some more lotion and work into the ends of your hair. Then add more lotion next time if you need too, depending on how your hair looks after it has dried. If it is still too dry and frizzy, add more lotion next time. Always put the lotion on your hair while it is wet. I dont know why, it just works better. Then style your hair however you want. If you put too much on your hair, just use less next time. Keep working at it until you get the combination that works for you.

This really works. My hair had quit breaking and is so healthy. I have long, blonde, curly hair and I get compliments all the time.

you may be on to something Madonna.. after all lotion is very helpful for dry skin, so why not hair too? I have never used hair food though, but am willing to try it!!thanks

Madonna,

I started putting the lotion in the hair. I was just wondering, since your hair is long about how much lotion do you use? At first I thought the lotion would make my hair greasy, but in reality I have found that I need a good bit of lotion. Is this what you have found?thanks :)

Hi Melanie:

Yes, I use a lot of lotion. I put some in my hand mixed with with the hair food and put that on the ends. Then another coat of "just lotion only" on top of that, on just the bottom part. I put a little on the top, but not much. My hair is saturated with lotion and it takes it a long time to dry. However, it is worth it. Your hair will quit breaking and will look so much better. I comb mine out with a pick after it is dry.

I buy the big bottles of Suave lotion, two or three at a time. I use Suave because some of the others feel different in my hair. Also, I use some gel on my bangs so that I can style them.

I got a compliment on my hair in the elevator yesterday. It is long, blonde, and curly. I have blue eyes and am 5'10". The hair kind of brings everything together.

Redkens All Soft is like a miracle in a bottle :) I bought it after a hardcore highlighting session which dried my hair out WAY more than usual and it was like I had never colored it at all, my hair was completely changed - silky, detangled and super smooth - after the first time using it! I'm so hooked on it!

Redken Butter Treat is a excellent leave-in conditioner for my dry frizzy hair.
