I have had silicone implants put in a couple of months ago, but all of a sudden there seems to be alot of bad press about silicone. I've got liquid ones in not gel! I'm from the uk, and wanted to have them done really big. Unfortunately my surgeon said he could only fit a 600cc in, as it was my first augmentation and my skin wouldn't stretch enough. I'd have to have them in for a year and then could go bigger!
Well I thought, when I do go bigger I'd change them for something safer. i do like how these look though they look really natural! I'm just a bit scared incase they did ever leak. Though I didn't want the saline ones put in that you use in the U.S because I've seen documentaries, where you put in the roll up shell and then blow them up... well the shells look VERY thin!! I'd have saline but only if the shells were thicker like the ones I've got in! I'd rather have ones that are prefilled than done during the day of surgery.
What would my safest option be?
Also I've had them put in from under the breast, and as they're quite big implants the incisions are 6cm long. If new ones are put in would the incsion be made in the same place, and if so would the skin still be able to heal properly afer already been cut there once?!
When I had them done, a little part of my scar opened a month after having it done, and this was quite scareym though I had to have a plaster over it and take high dose anti-biotics after wards for a few weeks and it's healed. Though I'm still scared to go fully in the bath incase my scars opened or something daft. They're all white now and seem to be healed but it's just this fear I've got in my head I guess.
Hope to hear form any advice
Thanks x

The silicone liquid that is done in the US is being done under a study. There are strict guidelines to who can participate in the study. It is not open to everyone.
The cohesive gel ones are also being done in a study, but it is open to a limited amount of people and is not as stricted as the liquid to who can participate.
I like the idea of cohesive gel. It is a silicone, but in a solid like form. It is suppose to be more natural looking and feeling. Also, if you were to cut the implant in half, the gel would not go anywhere. Think of cutting a block of jello or a gummy bear.
I don't like the idea of saline because eventually, they will leak. May take 10 or even 20 years but still, they are not permanent. They say no breast implant is but I would rather take my chance with cohesive. At least if that shell breaks, you won't have a flattend out breast. I don't even know if you would ever be able to tell if it broke to be honest.
I have read of problems with saline. From what I read, I don't like it, at all. In my opinion. But, I am sure there are alot of people who are happy with saline. Now, I have read of people who had saline first then replaced with cohesives. All of what I read, anyone who went from saline to cohesive preferred the cohesives much better.

hey, I read your message thanx. I actually have had 650 cc implants put in, so I couldn't have the cohesive gel or else they would be far too heavy for me! The silicone ones I've got in although they are liquid ones, the shells are very thick! I mean I looked at them held them stretched them, and banged them against the table, they're very thick! the saline ones I've seen the shells are so thin! I can't belive it, I'd be scared of them popping, or if I lay on them or something them rupturing easier!
I would have liked the gel ones, though it was not an option, as I wasn't very big to start with and even though I've had them done now to 32ee, I still would liek them bigger, but have to wait a year for the skin to stratch so I can have them done bigger! But honestly, you should see them, they look so natural you wouldn't even know I've got them done, and they feel very soft!
I do always worry though, hearing so many scare stories. They're not the old silicone ones that had thinner shells, so I do feel a bit better, but as soon as somthing safer comes along, I'd change them!
O foucrse I've got 6cm scars under them, though you can't see them because my boobs are quite big and they're in the creases of my breasts.
