I just can't get my diastolic to go down. Systolic is good...anywhere from 115-135, but that damn diastolic. Sometimes it's a great 78 (that's when no one-year-old is running around the house and a husband watching the loud television), but otherwise it's at an average of 86!! Sometimes 92 sometimes 81. I just don't know what to do. I don't want to get on meds again! I'm very worried and very scared.

Please anyone, do you have any advice???

Well, if you want to get technical about it, your systolic really is no better off than your diastolic. The "normal" range is <120/80. In any case, if we assume your AVERAGE BP is something like 125/86, you are probably fine. Just keep an eye on it.

You know what! The hell with it. I know my problem is anxiety. I get one 135/90 and I go overboard by taking my blood pressure every 10 minutes some times five times in a row. I just can't take this crap anymore! I'm so sick of living my life like I'm walking on eggshells. Well, no more! As long as I'm exercising, eating healthy, losing weight that's all I can do.

By the way, I know 120/80 is normal, but if you went through preeclampsia like I did you'd realize that a 128/87 is a good pressure for me.

Bet you the majority of folks who visit this board would be thrilled with a consistent 128/87.

Hi Nermal,

I'm in the same boat.

Lately my systolic has been beautiful (110-124), but my diastolic likes to stay in the high 80's or even 90 in the PM. Can't figure it out.

Thanks Tasmin. That helps a lot!! Even if you someone doesn't have the answers, it's nice to know that somewhere out there someone is going through the same thing!

Thank you!
