I was wondering if my memory loss/forgetfulness was due to the bipolar or the meds that I am taking(Effexor and lithium) or is it both? This is a real problem for me. Any thoughts or answers would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Hedge,
If it is the lithium, and it works so well for me, do you think it is worth trying something else? Or should I just stick with the the memory loss? Oh, what to do! Thanks for the reply!

I personally think that antidepressants cause memory loss/forgetfulness, too...

Oh my gosh, I am doomed! Now I know why Hedge is off the meds! I don't think I could handle that at this point in my life. I guess I will have to deal. Thanks for your reply Fineanddandy!

Hi D25,
Talk to your Doc and ask if they can reduce your Lithium by a small amount. That did make a difference for ME. Try to find a balance between the Lithium and the memory problems/confusion.

Thanks Hedge, I am going to do that. Any remedies for sleeping? I have only slept 2-4 hours a night for about a week now. I just can't stay asleep.
