dbegley1 01-28-2005, 02:36 PM Does anyone know if the root cause of Spinal Stenosis can be Osteo Arthritis? texasmary 01-29-2005, 12:22 AM Yes, I believe so. I have osteo arthritis in my back which has caused lots of spurs and other strange looking formations. This growth went into the spinal canal at two or more of my lumbar vertebrae, causing spinal stenosis and accompanying numbness in one leg. Had surgery three months ago to "whittle out" the canal and free up the nerves going to my legs. Hope that helps. Best wishes, Mary in Texas dbegley1 03-07-2005, 04:03 PM Thanks for the info TexasMary. I really believe that the osteo-arthritis I was diagnosed with did indeed cause my spinal stenosis. My Neuro-Surgeon feels that surgery will not benefit me, so I am going with the epadural blocks. Hope they make me feel better. Take care. |
