Hello my name is Daniel Burgess I am 23 years of age and from the U.K since last SUnday or Monday night on the way back from my friends house in the car I was being very quite and not to talkative as some people do get when you are not starting to feel to well. Since then I have had these guts ache/pains around the belly button area and about 2 days ago when I was at work I was getting what feels like diohrea (not sure on spelling) it feels like dioreah coming out but its not runny mainly lumpy but not to good looking also it is now coming out black or very dark in color. So later that night I rang up the NHS 24 hour help line and they advised me to go see someone straight away because it could be blood possibly a ulcer or something else. and I was told from a friend blood can dry and make things go black if it is that. When I eventually got in to see the doctor after a long wait in A.E (accident and emergency) he took my pulse stuck the stethascope on me around my body and he did a pee test (urine sample) came back and he said that was fine and could not detect any blood (I was very relieved at this point) he gave me 2 pills wich I took straight away dont know hwat they were but I took them straight away. And I was given a perscription for 2 drugs called (Buscopan) & (Zoton Capsules) on the box for the Buscopan it says its for IBS even though I am sure not %100 that the doctor actually said it was IBS but do you guys think it is this and has any had this or any similar problems with there buisness out of the bottom coming out black or very dark in color and feeling like dioreha

Hi Daniel,

Remember this is my opinion and only my opinion. I am NOT a doctor.

You need to go to a GI doc. I'd start with a family doc because here in the states you have to be referred. I don't know how it works in the UK. You need some more tests! Even if it's IBS you need to have futher tests to rule out problems that IBS mimics. Some of of the things IBS mimics could be quite dangerous. (I'm not trying to scare you honey, it's just the facts.)

I can't tell you if it's IBS but I don't remember ever hearing that black stools were a part of IBS. The rest could be but if it were me I wouldn't take a chance.

Just a note: You don't want to use your full real name on this web sight. It's against the posting rules. Just thought you might want to know so you can reread them :D .

Love,

Jamie

Ive just been had a rest for 2 to 3 hours got up gone to the loo and say its the first time in a few days I have had a pee without having to do the other end wich hopefully is a good thing in my case and I dont feel to bad atm. I have tried to limit what I eat as well i.e. not eating much just had brealfast cereal and 2 small portions of macaroni cheese and occasionaly drinking cranbery juice (wich is supposed to be good for you for something do not know what though)see what I am like in the moring after a full nights rest I may not be to bad

I didn't see that you received a rectal exam in any of that... black stools DOES = blood, and a simple rectal exam can determine if you have blood in there or not. Be sure to have a Dr. do a rectal. and good luck
