I was thinking... if a dieter would wake up at 7:00 and go to sleep at 7:00...
Thats a 12 hour timeframe....
would it be healthy for lets say a person on a 1200 calorie diet to:

Eat 100 Calorie snacks every hour, instead of eating meals?... the only downside i could see is that it would make breakfast "low" on energy, but would definatly "fuel" the body"..
Even if a 1200 calorie diet isnt right; you can substitute this with 1600 calories... leaving you with bigger morning/lunchtime portions.
and this would also use the 40/30/30 method (method in which percentiles in carbs/protein/fat

Example
Wakeup: 7:00-

7:00 Wheat toast (45cal) toasted with small amount of non fat creamcheese (15cal) with half yoke and full egg white of an egg (est.45) and a doulope of fatfreesourcreme... 100

10: so on type stuff..

Whats you opinion?

Personally I think it's a pain in the butt to eat EVERY hour. Secondly, I think that 1200 calories is too low(for me) and I prefer a 1500 calorie diet when dieting, along with execise of couse. I guess your blood sugar levels will be well maintained, and if you can stand being hungry every hour and eating little, then I don't see why not.

Eating THAT often - every hour - wouldn't allow your digestive system time to do its thing.

Thats why it is recommended for people to eat every 2-3 hours because thats roughly how long it takes for food to be digested.

And like Jessica said, 1200 calories a day is a bit low.

Are you planning on eating like this or was this just a hypothetical question?

I tend to snack a lot instead of eat.... somebody once told me a downside is it's not good for your teeth!
