very simple question here, what are the possible symptoms of throat cancer? what would a doctor look for to tip him off?

There aren't many symptoms of throat cancer. It's most often found in heavy smokers/heavy drinkers. Sometimes it may cause horseness that doesn't go away or a sore throat that keeps coming back. If you have a these symptoms for longer than a week you should get checked out. And if it lasts for months, you should see a specialist. Better to be safe than sorry. It took me a year and a half to get diagnosed, but I was extremely young when I got it, so nobody was really looking for it. I wish you the best of luck.

Sandy:
What symptoms did you have? And what tests did you have over the 18 months? I'm frankly dismayed that it took that long to diagnose throat cancer.
And how are you today?
This is not idle curiosity. I had vocal cord cancer six years ago, with 33 radiation treatments.

Bill
