My step mother was diagnosed with inflammitory breast cancer and has to have 6 month of chemo, then radiation, more chemo and a double mastectomy. I know nothing about this and would love some info on it. It sounds very serious and I would like to know what the outcome will be. Will she be okay or will she die?! I don't live close to her, she's in British columbia and I'm in Quebec so I can't even see her to see how bad she is.Thanks

my best friend has IBC and was diagnosed on April 22, 2002, she did 4 rounds of chemo then surgery then 12 rounds of more chemo then 22 rounds of radiation. They wanted her to do 46 radiation but it was just too hard on her. I guess alot of how she is going to do deals with what is her exact diagnosis. Also they told me that my friend would only live about 6 months to 18 months when they found it. To this day they have found no other cancer and she is doing GREAT! You wouldn't even know she has gone thru all that she has if you didn't know her. IBC has alot of people freaked out when they first find out I know I did but you will find that there are alot of people that have had this for a long time and live long health lives. So don't get dicouraged by some of the things you may hear there are some people that do survive this. There is alot to learn about it, I've been doing research on this since we found out almost on a daily basis and still learn more every day. My prayers are with you and if you need more info feel free to e-mail me.
