View Full Version : What could this be?

Last month, about a week before my cycle, I noticed a large bump in my right breast, and it was a little tender. I went to the doctor after the swelling went down, and he said it was just breast tissue. Now, I am a week before my cycle, and once again, the bump has returned. It's about the size of a half dollar, and when I raise my arms, I can see it buldging out. I am 23 years old, and from what I know, there is not a history of breast cancer in my family. There is no swelling in the other breast. The bump does move around. Should I be concerned? Is this normal?

Jaylynn - It is probably normal breast changes from your period (that is why they tell you to do breast exams after your period), but to be on the safe side, if it was me - I would call my doctor and see if I could just "pop-in" for him to check it. Either that, or have him order an ultrasound of that breast and try to schedule it around the time your next period is due (if they let you do that). Hope this helps. Judy
