Hi all i will get right to the point . About 3 weeks ago i had magor swelling in the right breast pain through out the breast....my doctor waited to my right breast was close to normal to do an exam he found a mass on the right side breast. The swelling may be gone both both breast are tender and where he pushed on the mass it caused terrible pain no mass on the left breast. After the exam my breast swelled back up for a couple of days and was more painfull. he has me scheled for a mamogram in a week. Any one experienced this?? though both sides hurt only the right has a mass and i have never had a mamogram just turned 35 . I bet it will leave in pain and i am afraid it wont find the answer????

I have never experienced this, but I can tell you that mammograms are a very effective tool in detecting breast cancer. I had my yearly one done today in fact. I had it done at a facility that does it digitally which is even better and is the most accredited facility in this part of my state. Mammograms are a bit uncomfortable but only for a few seconds for each picture and you shouldn't have much lingering pain afterwards. Try to stay away from coffee and chocolate as that can make breast more tender. Best of luck to you and I hope you get some answers; I'm sure you will. Just trust that you are doing the right thing and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for the information I need it. I had the mamogram it was not as bad as i thought thought it did swell the right breast up. The other news is good the mamogram was clear.YEAH but i have to go to a surgeon any way since my primary found the mass. This has inferred with my life i cant do anything with the swelling in the breast and under my arm I am in terrible pain i cant function on a day to day liveing
Any one who reads this please tell me what you know :)
