I have recently found a lump on my cervix just below the opening to the uterus, i have an appt with a health specialist soon for a smear test but I'm not sure if they will be able to tell if its cancer or a cyst without doing a biopsy. Anyone know? I really nervous about this now.
Thanks, Claire

From my sister's own experience with cervical cancer. Any lumps that you might get could actually be from the virus (HPV) that cause abnormal cells, or pre-cancerous cells depending on the result from the pap smear. The HPV virus is a sexually transmitted disease that is the most common STD out there, in fact the percentage of women who have it is extremelly high. Some signs of the virus are discharges, lumps or warts in the vagina. You should consult your gyno and have a pap smear. Hope this info could help.
Hope for the best, Simone
