Hello,
I am in need of a LEEP procedure and I have some questions... I am getting married in 8 weeks and I want to know how the heeling process is.
I am just nervous that I won't be able to enjoy the next 8 weeks of upcoming wedding things (Jack and Jill, Bach Party, the Wedding and Honeymoon)... and Plus,,,,I am such a wimp when it comes to pain!

Let me know of any details you think I should know... How heavy the discharge is (maxi pad or mini pad..ahhaha!), the pain with healing, etc. Also, did your doctor say anything about exercising afterward? Boy...I am sorry I have so many questions...

My doctor is giving me Local Anestisia (spelling?) so I won't feel the pain... But I am just curious and nervous about the "aftermath".

Thanks to anyone that can help http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi! I had a LEEP almost 2 weeks ago. I did not have have anesthesia. I was just given a shot a a few shots to numb the cervix. I found the LEEP to be less painful then the colposcopy and biopsy. After the procedure I felt ok without painkillers etc. My back hurt a bit and I was a little bit uncomfortable especially when trying to sleep. I am still bleeding slightly though. Much less then I would if I had my period or anything, but requiring more then a pantyliner...If you have any questions let me know- I will answer them if I can :-) I was really scared before too- but the procedure is quick- and I spent much more time worrying about it. :-)

I had the LEEP procedure a few months ago now. I can start by saying: DO NOT WORRY! You will have a great 8 week lead up to your wedding, and a WONDERFUL honeymoon...with NOTHING impaired :-)

THe procedure itself is uncomfortable and painful, and you will probably feel cramping, and just all over yucky, for a couple of days. Apart from that, I had a couple of weeks of rather unpleasant discharge (from the stuff they spray up there to help healing), and my first period after was VERY heavy for the first few days. But apart from having to use liners on and off, I was completely fine those first couple of weeks, and after that first period, I was completely back to normal, and would never have known anything had happened to me!

You will have to abstain from use of tampons, or from intercourse for the first 6 weeks...so that'll just make your honeymoon more special!

I wish you the very best of luck...I mean for your wedding, honeymoon, and marriage, cos you don't need it for the procedure!

Thank you so much for your replies. You have both put me at ease! Anyone else that can calm me down and share what they have been through (healing, etc) would be great! Thank you SO much!!!
