donsabi 02-01-2005, 10:42 PM A doctor I met about a year ago told me his bother was using Res - Q with good results. It is expensive. Has anyone here tried it and what were your results? Sponsor SternFan 02-02-2005, 03:04 AM I have been using it for a little over a year now and the only time it really got my Cholesterol down to 150 total was when I was taking 4 fish oil + 3 red rice yeast twice a day ( instucted by them to do so ) but my numbers were still not in a good ratio and it got to be to expensive to continue that way. So I now take 3 oil and 1 red rice yeast twice a day and I'm back up to 214 total and I'm also taking 20mg lipitor. But I have talked to some people who have had great success with this product at a seminar that I went to. I'm gonna try a fish oil from my local health food store that is not as expensive. Good luck to you :) Lenin 02-02-2005, 08:59 AM Boy, they are cagey about pricing. Res-Q 1250 is a fish oil (about 700 mg. Omega-3's per capsule) that seems to be marketed as something special as witness "call for price." I imagine the price is quite hideously high ...can someone who's using it tell me HOW high? I always look for the cheapest way to get a task accomplished and this stuff doesn't seem to be the cheapest from what I know about marketing. When you have the lowest price you TRUMPET the fact. I could be wrong though, maybe they want only a few pennies a capsule<snicker>:D:D. SternFan 02-02-2005, 10:02 AM Res-Q-1250 = $52.00 per Bottle 200 capsules per bottle Res-Q LDL-X = $38.00 per Bottle (red rice yeast) 120 capsules per bottle They say you need to use both of these products together t get the best results Lenin 02-02-2005, 03:04 PM That's not too bad for very potent capsules... To get 1000 mg. of DHA + EPA then is about 1.5 capsules so that's $52/ (200/1.5)days or about .39/day. My cod liver oil costs a little less than a dime for that amount but at least the price is within reason. (I know they recommend you take much more than a gram/day, but I'm just trying to compare apples with apples.:D) SternFan 02-02-2005, 03:47 PM Yeah that's not bad if your gonna take one or two a day:) donsabi 02-02-2005, 07:20 PM Does anyone think that Res-Q is any better than any other fish oil and RRY? Is it worth the expense? SternFan 02-03-2005, 12:04 AM When the mainstream media reports the most recent studies they commonly use the term "fish oil". To the contrary 3/4 the research and studies show that EPA and DHA, which are derived from fish oil, produce all the beneficial results. This can be confusing, but make no mistake, EPA and DHA are the active ingredients, not the fish oil. Res-Q 1250 is a pharmacological grade of EPA and DHA, and that is exactly why it works. Do a google search for Res-Q 1250 ;) Lenin 02-03-2005, 07:22 AM donsabi, My estimate is that it is NOT worth the premium price. donsabi 02-04-2005, 02:37 PM Thanks for all the comments. In an effort to avoid statins I decided to order the Res-Q-1250 and the LDL X. Both were a little more than $100 which I think is expensive, however, if it does work it will keep me off the statins and that alone would make it worth the cost. I have a lipid profile from two weeks ago and I have a script for another blood test in two months. I will be happy to share the results. SternFan 02-04-2005, 08:07 PM Much luck to you and please let us know how it works for you Wana~* |
