I am new to this board. The reason for my posting is because I am hoping to get some helpful information. It has been almost a year since I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer and I am still recovering from treatment. It has been a long and difficult struggle but I am happy to be here. My tumor was at a stage 3 when diagnosed therefore, it had started to lean onto my jaw muscle. My muscle seized and to this day I still cannot fully open my mouth. I can open to about 1 cm and a little more when exercising.
Because of this condition, I cannot chew my food properly or even brush my teeth properly. I have spoken to my dentist to see if there are any surgical procedures to correct this but she does not believe there is. I find it hard to believe that there is nothing out there to help me. I am 44 years old and I can't see myself eating soup for the rest of my life. Does anyone have any answers? Is there anyone else that has gone through the same thing?
