I had LEEP done 2.5 weeks ago and I am still bleeding. I had my period a week after the procedure and it was much heavier than normal. Did any of you had a similar bleeding problem? What did your doctor advice?

Did any of you had a similar bleeding problem? What did your doctor advice? Hazelmoon22 06-07-2003, 02:07 AM I had a LEEP 2 days ago and I did not have any bleeding. My doctor said that I would not have bleeding because they cauterized (spelling?) or closed off the cutting they did. She said if there was bleeding, it was ok, as long as you don't soak a pad in an hour. My friend had one done and did have some bleeding, but as long as yours is not so heavy that you have to change frequently, that should be normal. Precious1333 06-07-2003, 10:28 PM Hello, I had a LEEP on Monday and I barely had any discharge at all. (of course I was expecting the discharge to be horrible...but it isn't...yet!) I was actually wondering if it was normal to have "minimal" discharge, and my doctor (the nurse actually) said that that was okay. I was due for my period the next day(Tues), and I didn't start until Wednesday. I figured it would be really heavy, but it isn't at all. I normally end my period on Sat or Sun, but I'll keep you updated to see how long the "bleeding" lasts. It's just hard to tell if I'm bleeding from my period or LEEP right now. I'll keep you updated. Good luck http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Roni 06-09-2003, 10:54 AM I got my period a week after the LEEP procedure. Unfortunately I kept bleeding. My doctor believes the period might have caused the continuation of the bleeding by irritating the cervix. |
