We have just started our 1 y/o DD on cow's milk, mixing it half and half with formula for 3 days now. She has been more gassy then usuall and her stools, though still normal, as in once a day, are pretty runny, they are usually formed. She doesn't seem to be too bothered by any of it, other then being a little gassy in the late afternoon like she was when she was just a little baby. I'm just wondering if this is an indication of an allergy?

I would take her to the Dr. to ask, but our Dr. is very sick, and I never get to see her, or the same Dr twice. The last time I took her for her shoots and I asked the Dr if it was a good time to start her on milk cuz she was a preemie....blah blah blah, and he flat out told me I don't know, trust you own instincts! I was highly insulted! I have been doing that for the past 6 months with NO Dr at all! All I was looking for was a second opinion really....anyway anyone have any ideas if she is just getting used to the milk and I should wait it out? or stop and switch to soy milk? or back to just formula? anyone have any imput? all is welcome and appreciated. :)

I know when we switched my boy over to cow's milk just recently, he had a hard time at first. He didn't like the mix of formula and milk together. Once we did it seperately (and we warm the milk up for him) It took him a few weeks and sometimes we would give him gas drops to help. His stool is sometimes hard..but to help with that we would give some watered down applejuice.

Thanks for the reply! I hope it is just her getting used to it. She likes cold drinks too so I think that will be a big help when we finnaly do the full switch. I guess for now I'll just keep it at half and half untill this gets better. :)
