Is anyone familiar with DNA testing?

What Type of sample is most common for Lyme testing? (blood, hair etc...)

Why doesn't everyone test with DNA?

Is it expen$ive?

What do the results look like? (percentages %, High/Low, scale of 1-10, Pos / Neg +/- etc..)

What other things can you test for related to Lyme using DNA?

Thank You for any comments on this.

Hi TICKED-OFF. I believe the PCR test tests the DNA. Like all other Lyme tests, it is not entirely reliable either. I have read that it is less than 30% accurate.

I heard that the PCR test is very sensitive to the DNA of Bb and because it doesn't count antibodies is good for ruling out active infection. The bad thing about is that is not acurate also - you can get false positive or negative. Also it can react to the DNA of already dead Bb or parts of them.
