I have had untold colposcopies to finally result in 2 Leep's last year. My 2nd Leep was performed as the first one produced cells categorized as carcinoma in situ. After the second Leep, they reached cleer cells. However, on my follow up colposcopy, they found more bad cells. It was at this point I was unexpectedly laid off with 250 of my coworkers & my insurance was terminated. I had been trying desperately to get my doctor to agree to a partial hysterectomy to end the stress of constantly being sliced up and worrying that maybe it went crazy & infected everything else. I am not a maternal woman & have never wanted children.
My Issue today is I find I am pregnant, 6 weeks at the longest. I have not received treatment for these bad cells in a year as my current employer still has not gotten my insurance despite continous reminder of my medical issues.
I honestly do not know what to do. I do not know if I can carry a baby to term after one light Leep and one much deeper & wider in the last year. I do not know if any doctor can terminate with the condition of my cervix still bearing bad cells at an unknown stage. I do not know if it is wise to try to carry a child to term (for adoption) with my last leep done to remove cells described as carcinoma.
I understand my doctor will not be able to make that determination without another colposcopy to determine the stage my cervix is in, but i have 6 weeks to make a decision that is as informed as possible and no health insurance to help me do so. I cannot afford to pay for a colposcopy out of pocket.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated from a terrified woman.
