Yesterday I noticed a lump in my buttock. It is hard and about the size of a marble, or maybe a little bigger. It's not in the skin, it's more underneath. It's definately not right. I'm really worried about it, and maybe i'm just getting worked up over nothing, but I really don't know what this could be. I'm only 18, so I guess cancer is not very common in people as young as me. Is it possible to have cancer in the buttock and how probable/dangerous would this be? I have been tired and have had headaches a lot lately, but that may just be because I have been extremely overworked in the past couple weeks. I know this is definately not skin cancer, as the lump is not in the skin and there is nothing visible on the outside, but it feels really weird. What could this be? I'm very worried and I don't have a docter here (i'm in college).

Unfortunately, no one can diagnose this over the internet, so you're going to have to see a doctor. I would suggest that you go to the infirmary at your college and have someone look at it.

It could be any number of things...including, but not limited to, a boil, a cyst, a benign fatty tumor, etc., etc. You should have someone check it out if only to relieve your mind of all this worry.
