View Full Version : Numbness Worse When Cold?

I was diagnosed with MS 10 years ago and have been lucky to have had a relatively mild run of it so far. I also have Chiari malformation which was decompressed 5 years ago, so sometimes it's hard to tell which symptoms are caused by which conditions - even the doctors don't know!

I am no stranger to the numbness and tingling that can occur, and in the last few years it has moved from my legs and lower extremities to include my hands and lower arms. This winter, it has gotten much worse in my hands, especially when they are exposed to the cold. If my fingers get cold, they start to tingle and get numb, and then burn for hours even after I warm them up.

I know that there are other conditions that can cause similar symptoms, so I am wondering if this is typical - a worsening of the numbness & tingling in the cold - for other MS sufferers?

Thanks for your replies!
