I was DXd 8 months ago and have had minor symptoms from time-to time (numbness, tingling, fingers and arms going stiff) but symptoms usually last only about a week or so and subside. Never really had any fatigue until recently. (at least I am thinking the fatigue is MS related) Approximately once or twice a week, by mid-afternoon, I am dead tired and come home and fall asleep until the next morning. I exercise heavily and Ive ended up missing my usual after-work workouts. Does the fatigue come and go like this? Any thoughts? Thanks.

It really depends on the person, but in my case, yes, it comes and goes. I mean,
I'm always more tired than a healthy person, but there are weeks where I need to sleep 20 hours a day and other weeks where I can get by with 8-10 hours a day.

I find that the best way to deal with this is to make sure I have enough time for emergency naps once in awhile. I've also learned to become very efficiant in what I do. I find that if I manage to get everything done quickly, it doesn't matter if I have to sleep a lot more later on.

I think the fatigue does come and go. Perhaps excercising so heavily isnt a good idea. I know that feeling that way is very hard to deal with, especially when used to being very active. Best advice is listen to your body, just take it easy when you need to and enjoy yourself when feeling fine.

Hi,
Maybe you should pace yourself and not overdue the exercise.I get more fatiqued in summer and also if I do too much during the day.I used to get everything done at once and now its a little at a time.Wish you well,Dessell:)

I have been wondering myself for a long time about fatigue and MS. I was diagnosed a year ago on the 15th and only the past few weeks do I find that the fatigue is just awful! I go to sleep around 11 or 12 midnight and can sleep until 3 or 4pm the next day! I sometimes feel like I cannot move and it is making me crazy, because I have always had so much energy. Does anyone have any possible suggestions? I would really appreciate any answers that can be given to me! I also take Avonex weekly and wonder if that has anything to do with it?
