Interferon therapy can cause eye problems. It is listed as an adverse event in the package insert.
I am not sure that the hepatitis C does this. Hepatitis C can cause insulin resistance and it can aggrevate diabetes. And, diabetes and insulin resistance can cause sight changes. So, in this way, maybe.
I hope this helps,
thanbey

Hi again! Yep i sure know what you are talking about-its just 1 thing after another! Bernadine i do not know your age all i can tell you about is my own personal experience-all i know is that after i turned 40 my health just went to hell, lol. hey gotta laugh and have some sense of humor, or i would go insane haha. oh, to the vision problem-i have had blurry vision and head-aches for about 6 years-i was dx with hepc in 2000-3 years ago my eye doc got concerned and ran tests and told me i have glaucoma-i had to get bifocals too on top of all my life being nearsighted. he has me on 2 different eyedrop scripts since then, my pressure in my eyes are staying at normal range now, buttt i still do not see that clearly its all blurry. that same year i was dx with Type 2 diabetes (sheesh) and i refused to go on meds for it and just changed some of my eating habits and lost 25 pounds. now my sugar level is in good range-but my vision is still blurry. it is so aggravating-i do not trust myself to driive at night because of it. i once read that peripheral (sp?) vision probs can be related to hepc-[ website not allowed - please carefully review the posting rules ] do you see a specialist in the liver disease field? or a GP? i really believe your doc is right in what he told you-IMO. i have so many of the symptoms that hepc sites speak of that it is unreal! damn fibromyalgia is driving me nuts too. the reason i asked about your age is my eye doc said that after ya get in your 40's lots and lots of peeps have to get bi-focals. even with my glasses i still have to set the puters Text size to Large-that has helped alot. about the interferon therapy-my doc says i am not a good candidate for it, but i hope and pray it will work for you and all our hepper sisters and brothers. just another part of my story, hope it helps.
