For the past two days, for a couple of hours, my 18 year old daughter cannot keep her eyes from closing and rolling back in her head. She will be busy doing something and it is like she has no control over her eyes. She has to literally hold the lids open to keep them from shutting, even though she is wide awake. Could this be a problem with the muscles in her eyelids? Has anyone heard of this weird problem?

Belle,
This sounds very frightening for your daughter and you. There are some forms of muscular dystrophy that affect the eyes and eyelids but they ususally are not associated with such sudden onset. Other than that I am no expert ( I have MD but not that form) but I would definitly suggest an E.R. visit or emergency appointment with a neurologist. Good luck and please keep "us" posted.....
