i had a majorly huge eye twitch that lasted me 6 months, went away, came back for another few months... i went to the docs about it, they said there was nothing that can be done for an eye twitch but he looked inside my eyes and found that there was something with my left eye... so i went to see an eye doctor, got some glasses... and all was ok.. the twitch even stopped! :D
anyway, i've been getting a lot of blurred vision. like, sometimes it's ok, but other times its like there's a blind patch in my vision and it feels like it'smostly coming from my left eye.
i do spend enough time on the computer.. and i'm ok with looking at things from a distance for the most part. sometimes though, i also notice... aside from the blurry patches, what i'mlooking at, it sort of warps a bit. my glasses do help with this.. i can't read without my glasses anymore or i lose entirely where i'm at.. the lines like, move up.. or something. is this something i should see an eye doctor about? and what could this be?

also i forgot to mention.. when i'm reading online, and the background is dark, the font is light... i can't read it or it just doubles up and goes very weird. it's the same for some other colours. i'm not sure which ones but the black and white really sticks out in my mind atm. (red font.. pastel-like colours.. orange.. just thought of those.. anything that isn't really dark its like my eyes don't catch)

I think that reading white on a dark background and getting that is very normal - it drives me crazy! Even if it's white print on a book jacket that is black! It's like it's 3D or doubling or something.
The blind spot could be a floater (could be gray, black, clear... could be a thread, a spot, a blob, a cloud... it could move, it could remain stationery..
I don't know what the warping could be - that I'd have checked out - "Google" the Amsler grid and see how you do - read about it. If that is your problem, make an eye appointment.
BUT, I just want to add, that if you keep staring and staring at it, unblinking.. things WILL fade out, that's normal. So don't freak out over it, don't stare long at it, because that WILL happen and you'll get yourself all upset.

wow, i just looked at it... the lines are definately not all the same! they're either missing, or change in direction.. none are actually 90 degree though...
the blind spots aren't floaters... i get those too. i get these little grey cloudy things now and then, but the blind spot is like i actually can't see something... it could just be a tiny portion of something... but like literally that one patch is just missing from my sight.

Hi me again! - As far as that grid thing goes, I'd see a doc about it, the blind spot? (I call it a "blank" spot) I have that - like say I am driving and look at the car in front of me a certain way, the left tail light just blanks out - I told the eyedoctor, he checked and it's only a floater. I have some permanent ones, I have a HUGE stationery one since last year, I mean they can do anything at all. One time I had a very tiny one right in my center of vision. I'd look at the clock, it would say 6:18, but I'd see 6:10 because that "blank" spot would blank out the line in the middle of the 8! Thankfully that one went away because at the time I was working as a bookkeeper and having a hard time! But the warping, etc is not caused by floaters. How old are you? Do you have any diabetes or anything? Macular degeneration could also be a cause, but if you are very young I don't think that is possible.

i'm only 19.. fairly young. no diabetes as far as i know, i have been tested in the last year a couple of times.
not sure if this relates but i also get very weird fainting spells. they're not just the regular type of fainting spell... and i haven't gotten any answers as to what it is either. i lose my sight, i don't lose my awareness.. and i can still hear.. not sure, thought i'd just toss that out there see if maybe that's something to do with it..

If you have lines that are missing or distorted on the Amsler grid, it's serious. You should see an ophthalmologist asap. He might refer you to a retinal specialist. I just saw your latest post--you might be referred to a neuro-ophthalmologist.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

i went to the hospital yesterday and was told that what i'm having are migraines.. my eyes looked perfect so she said it's in my visual cortex and that a migraine could effect it.. i got some meds for it, and they seem to work ok... we'll see! just thought i'd give the results if anyone else had the same problem..
