I have a fear of dying, illness, disease, death, accidents, bad things happening etc. I just had a baby 8 months ago and this all started 9 months ago although I have always been anxious. I was wondering if anyone had a fear of dying go away and how.

I am not sure if this is ocd but I do have an obsessive nature-doing things until they are perfect no matter how worn out I am.

I just can't get these thoughts to go away. I feel like my life is ruined because I have to live in fear everyday and have to think about death all my life.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

From your comments you have OCD.. no doubt.. You are constantly being bombared with messengers you know are false and not real. And you said you love perfection and will get there no matter how long.
These are all marks of OCD.
I suggest you contact the national OCD foundation and ask for a referal in your area. Find somebody who specializes in OCD behavoral therapy and erp (exposure response prevention) STick to the psychologist only!!!!!!! Check there background because alot them say OCD but they are not. You have to be careful to find the right one.
You might respond well enough with behavoral therapy that you wont need meds.

is this your first baby? Honestly as soon as i seen you post i think you have post pardom ( the blues) . why i think this is because when you have a baby everything changes, and in your heart you know now you have to take care of a baby and it hit you like a ton of bricks , i think your scared of all this because your afraid of dieing and stuff and leaving your baby . my sister went through all of that.

ive had an insane fear of death and disease for as long as i can remember... for YEARS ill hardly think about it, and then boom... it hits me like a ton of bricks and i obsess 24/7...

this is what helped me:

i could get hit by a bus tomorrow... no cancer... no AIDS... but i would be dead all the same... so do i want to waste what could possibly be my last day on earth worrying about what could happen? or do i want to live my life to the fullest?

it sounds so simplistic, but its helped me so much... life for the day... dont worry about all this nonsense that could never happen...

I went through something very similar after I had my first child. I kept freaking myself out about everything. I too was always a bit anxious before my pregnancy. Later I found out that I had generalized anxioty disorder (GAD). There are medications for that, but I am no longer on meds as I have researched the subject and done lots of things like bio-feedback, yoga and other things to help me learn to relax and not worry. But if you need meds temporarily, see your doctor. While doing some of my own research, I found out about an author, Lucinda Bassett, wrote some books on this type of problem that really helped me. She suffered from GAD. You may want to look her up on the web to order her books, I highly recommend her books to help you to understand some of the things you are going through. My doctor did say that post pardum depression more than likely caused the GAD to get to the state that I was in at the time. Then my anxious mind just kept it going and eventually I started having panic attacks. I am doing great now. Try not to worry, you will be fine too once you figure out what you need to do. :) Those are my recommendations to you.
