Hello, I was scheduled to have leep procedure for my moderate to severe dysplasia two weeks ago and at the hospital they did pregnancy test. the test came back positive and the procedure was cancelled.
i was wandering if anyone who has gone through this. iam 5 weeks pregnant and have cin II and III. Iam scared to proceed with my pregnancy will it will progress into cancer?
Is it safe to have a leep procedure during pregnancy?
I met with my doctor yesterday and now iam in the waiting period. He did a biospy and colposcopy but I can't help think about what's happening. the waiting period is so difficult. Please help.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
While I can't tell you how they treat dysplasia when you're pregnant, I can tell you that it takes along time to progress to cancer. My guess, uneducated guess, would be that they'll watch it closely while your pregnant. They probably do a colposcopy to see how bad it is.
My sister in-law is very poor. Never went in for her PAPs because she didn’t have insurance. Well, she got pregnant and went to the OB/GYN and they of course did a PAP. Long story short, she had cancer of the cervix. They watched her very closely and gave her a c-section as 37 weeks because they were afraid it would spread. She had a c-section and a hysterectomy at the same time. She's fine now and her little boy is 4.
If she can get through her pregnancy with cancer, I'll bet you can get through yours with dysplasia. They'll probably treat you after you give birth.

I was surfing the net and came upon this site which addresses dysplasia and pregnancy. I thought of you. Check it out: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health/WHF.9812/0274.html
