me and my dad are pretty much anti-meds and i'm too scared to see a pshychologist but i would say the past 2 months (maybe?) i have been dealing with my obsessions a lot better myself by just talking myself out of the obsession and realizing how ridiculous and false it is etc. for the most part. i've been able to keep them under control anyway. but then i'll start to make mental lists about all the things i need to remember in order to control my ocd thoughts lol. but anyway my question is what self help tips do other people use on themselves to prevent the obsessions from controlling them completely?

and i know many of you probably think i'm stupid for not going on meds or seeing a doctor but i think that if i can push these thoughts to nothingness really slowly then i can make them disappear and i consider that basically giving therapy to myself even though the doctors probably have even better therapy. cause sometimes i can just temporarily say ***** you to my obsessions and they will literally just be nothing, i dono how i do it but sometimes i can just snap out of the patheticness of ocd.

"****you" to your obsessions...lol That's almost exactly what my psyke tels me to do anyway so your on the right track..lol Im working on mine, but some of them are so comforting...like touching the top of my head..stupid huh!! but anyway, im unable to take meds, so im hangen ok most of the time. It's tough, but your Soooo lucky your starting young!! Im way old and never knew until just this year that there was a name and reason for my obsertities (hope that dosnt offend, but mine are obsurd!!) and just knowing has been my greatest help, and talking to others that understand :)
