Just came back from the doctor (well NP) and she has put me on a 2 week trial of Lexipro for my panic/anxiety/OCD/depression rollercoaster ride for the last month.
Anyone ever take this?
How did it do?
Any info/advice appreciated.
THANKS!

I was once on Zoloft about five years ago for some depression i was having and it seemed to work oky for me but with a few side effects I didn't care for.well now my depression came back big time about a year ago and my doc wanted to try Lexapro this time around as he said it did not have as many of the side effects of the zoloft.wwll, i have been on Lexapro for well over a year now and it really helped quite a bit.But after about the year mark on it, and because of certain bad things that have happened in my life, my depression started to come back in a really big way.i went to my doc and he just raised my dosage and within about a week at the higher dose, i am sooo much better.i think the Lexapro is one of the better anti Ds out there and it definitely has less side effects. But keep in mind that just because a certain anti D has worked for some it may not work for all in the same way.So if this does not appear to be helping you, please talk to your doc about trying another one.Sometimes you have to try a few different ones at different doses to find the one that actually works for you.just hang in there and have a little patience and don't be afraid to try another med if the Lexapro does not work for you.marcia

Totally agree!! Lexapro for me has been a Godsend!! Only side effect I've ever noticed is teeth grinding at night. I take it right before bed, so I don't feel ANY other side effects. Just don't try to go off of it cold turkey....it makes you dizzy and sick to your stomach.....taper slowly if you every try to go off. Good luck!!

From the male side of it, Lexapro, Paxil and other SSRI's have the effect of preventing a male from finishing the sex act. I feel this is the main reason most males get on and off SSRI's. You can even play the game of getting off for a few days, have sex, and then go back on. sometimes this plays hell with the depression.
