Well, I am scheduled to have my cold cone biopsy tomorrow at noon to treat my severe dysplasia. I know a lot of women have had LEEPs on this website, but i havent heard from any that have had a cone biopsy. If any of you have had or are going to have a cone biopsy, please respond. It would be nice to talk to someone who will have the same procedure as me. Thank you !

Hi Annie,
How will yours be done? Will you be awake? I didn't mind being awake for my LEEP, but being put under last week wasn't bad either.
I don't know much about the cold cond, but I'm here to listen. The little sad face in front of your post put a sympathetic frown on my face. I'll be thinking of you.

Hi Annie, Hi Panik:
Here's hoping this post shows up!
Annie, I have not had the cold knife cone, but from what I have read many doctors prefer it to the LEEP because the edges (margins) of your sample are more readable since they have not been "compromised" by the heat of cauterization! I would think as a patient many would prefer the cold cone as well since they ALWAYS knock you out for it!
From my reading, your procedure seems a simple one with the standard recovery time of a LEEP. So they are very similar to each other.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and CLEAR margins!
God Bless,
Reze

HELLO LADIES! Wow, sugery was a sinch! I was a little freaked out because my doc told me i would have to have a spinal tap, but hte anesthesiologist (bad spelling) told met hat wasnt necessary so I felt a lot better! yeah, i didnt mind being knocked out at all. In fact, I didnt even mind when I woke up during surgery and started asking the doctor things like "hey hows it going down there? Are you getting it all?" and telling hte anesthesiologist how nice he is. needless to say, he gave me a little more sleeping potion after that. So now it has been 2 days after surgery, and i feel fine. Just mild back pains that only come once in a while and never last more than a like a minute. I hope that my WHOLE recovery will go this well. I am also going tos tart a new healthier life style. I think I can conquer HPV if I am positive and tell my body to kick its... ash? Right. I even felt well enough to go shopping all day yesterday. yeah i know that I should take it slow and stuff, but I am just too excited and happy for some reason to hang around the house. In fact, I am off to the hardware store to buy supplies to hang my moms new paper towel holder! I will keep you all posted with the healing process! God bless you all!
