I had the conization procedure done on May 30th. I now have my regular normal periods excpet, for about 2 days before and after my period I have brownish discharge. When I asked my doctor when I was back for another PAP 2 weeks ago she said that was normal and that if I still have it in another 6 months she'll check it out. I just found out that the PAP came back abnormal and I will have to do colposcopy again. Now I am worried. Any advice? Should I worry about the discharge?

From what I've been told, brownish discharge is old blood. I wouldn't worry too much about that. If you don't feel comfortable with the drs answer, ask again to set your mind at ease.

I'm going to have a conization sometime in the near future as well. May I ask if you had clear margins afterward? Is this your first pap since?

I had a conization done in March and only had minor bleeding for a few days. I had my follow up pap in July and it was fine, now Nov. 13 going for the next follow up. I'm sorry that your pap came back abnormal again. I wish you the best.
