Hi everyone,

I am not diabetic but thought maybe you could help me out...I usually post on the foot board so to make a long story short I recently had 2 surgeries within a weeks time and the tissue broke down badly. I was left with a big open wound around my torn up incsion...I am healing, all but a [art the size of my thumbnail has healed yet this area seems to be taking its time...it was pretty deep though. I am following DR orders and changing the dressing 2 x a day now, it looks really nasty since he pulled off the scab on Tues...my husband says it is just trying to grow new skin, I just have a weak stomach.
How long does it normally take for something like this to heal??? Is it normal for it to hurt? Not badly but it feels uncomfortable and sometimes makes me sick to my stomach...I'm a whimp, I admit. If any one can tell ma anything I would be very greatful!
dlh P.S. it has been 4 weeks since the 2nd surgery

dlh, :blob_fire In my case it was 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the balls of my feet. I am a diabetic. It took 6 months of what is call "domboro compresses and soaks followed by debreedment (cutting back the scab and dead skin) to give the new sub-dural layers something to root to as it grows back in. I also had 2nd degree burns to the top of one foot from a prior hot grease burn which took about the same lenght of time and treated the same way, which by the way was preceeded by a foot injury which was caused by a pebble getting into my shoe and causing the loss of the entire bottem of one big toe and was treated the same way. :dizzy:

Art,
Thanks for the reply, wow, I am sorry you went through that , makes mine looks like a cake walk! I guess I am lucky that it is so small and
I shouldnt be complaining. I hope it heals quicker than 6 months but at least it will heal...thanks again.
