I have a question. Is it normal to be able to feel your glands in your neck? I just noticed them for some reason. They don't feel sore or tender, and I'm not sure if I have always been able to feel them but never have. I don't feel sick at all, but just wondering if anyone else can feel their neck glands, even when they arent swollen.
Thanks!
Thanks!

glands are not usually felt unless they are swollen and they only swell if they are required to help in fighting something like infection. Maybe you have a bad tooth or something in which case the glands would be felt under the chin area of the neck. Usually when swollen the glands tend to hurt but if you are worried about them you should see a doctor .

I think to some extent you are supposed to feel your glands. They are always there, but its only when you have an infection etc that they begin to hurt or swell more. Obviously they should be pretty small. How many have you got?

I can feel one on each side of my neck. They arent sore and are definitely not sticking out, but if I put my fingers there I can feel them under the skin. The reason I ask is because I have been around a coworker that is sick for 2 wks and was hoping I wasnt getting sick. And I know its not a bad tooth because I am a dental assistant and I just got my teeth cleaned on Tues.
Thanks

I think at the moment you don't have anything to worry about. I have checked mine and I can feel my glands. I think we are supposed to feel them though because they are always there but swell when we are sick. If you find that it become sore etc you will probably becoming ill. But so far, it is a good thing.
