Hi,

Last year I was dignosed with early stage breast cancer and elected to have a mastectomy without chemo. Since my sentinel nodes were negative for cancer, I refused chemo and continued follow-up treatment with Tamoxifen and Zoladex.

Last wk, I found a lump in my armpit on the same side of my body as the affected breast. Has anyone else had a tumor in a lymph node? What did it feel like? Was it close to the skin?

I have an appt with my Dr, but I want to get info asap since this is all I can think about today.

Thanks!

I feel for you. I to had breast surgery and a week later had surgery in the arm pit for a lump and I can't lie it is very uncomfortable and my Dr. tells me it will be this way for year to come. The numbness and pain down the armpit and to the elbow really gets to me most of the times. Although I was lucky only the sentinal node and one lymph mode was infected with the cancer. As with you I am taking Tamoxifen but I had 33 treatments of rediation alos. Now it time for reconstruction surgery and that surgen tells me he wont put in implants because I had rediation. I can't even fill an a cup bra now. My breasts are full of fiberstic tumers. I am undecided as what to do about that. But back to the armpit surgery for the lulmps. I would suggest you go and get it over with and try your best to enjoy what life God has allowed to servive in. I am trying my best to enjoy what I have and I will pray for your recovery. Hi,

Hi,

See my post under 'Karin' yesterday if you want. I had about 20 nodes removed and paid close attention to physio in order to keep the best mobility in my arm and shoulder etc. My surgery was last May and I just played a week of golf. I have no significant side effects. It feels different, but I can deal with that. Every one is different - my advise is stay positive(yah I know a hunderd people a day say that) and do the physio to keep it active. Good Luck!

cheers,
