When ever i dont eat like for 4 hours i get really dizzy and my fingers fall asleep im having respitory problems right now and am on meds so that could b the cause. ive know u can still have low sugar sometimes even when not diebetic. my quest is, is wat r the signs of it and wat helps.

I am a type one diabetic and have been for almost 23 years now. I am on an insulin pump. I'm sure everyone has different signs for themselves, but i can tell you from my own experience some of them.

Low blood sugar
shaky
sweaty
weak
blurry vision
confused
forgetful
can't walk straight
numb limbs

High blood sugar
extreme thirst
increased urination
nausea
throwing up
dehydrated
flu like symptoms
possibly throwing ketones in urine

I'm sure that doesn't cover all of the possibilities, but that is how I feel if my blood is out of whack. Hope that helps you some. Any other questions, just ask. If I know, I'll answer

In my opinion you sound hypoglacemic or you have a little low blood sugar. Please keep in mind though that it is only my opinion. I could never know for sure what the problem is. The only fix if you are a little low would be to eat a snack with at least 15 grams of carbohydrate in it.

In case you don't know what that means a couple of suggestions would be eat 7 or 8 saltine crackers with some cheese or a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter on them

or you could drink 4 oz of juice

or eat a small apple

you could eat a piece of bread or toast with peanut butter on it

you could eat around 1 cup of grapes

Thats all I can think of without going through my fridge or cabinents and getting out my carb counting book.

Anyway, if you are low this should help and if you're not there isn't much harm in a small snack that I know of. Also, if this has been happening to you a lot you should ask a dr asap.
Good luck, let me know
