I am wondering how the best way to get a dx...I have the Fraser institute here in MN that deals strictly for autism but the waiting list is very long. I also have our school dist trying to get approval for more testing for asd and any ld's, I should know in a few weeks if it goes through...and it most likely will. Does anyone have an option on the best way to get a dx...He is going to a Physiatrist for adhd an ocd...but I am not sure about either dx now that I have been reading about Aspersers...so similar to adhd and ocd...Any options would be wonderful.

Thank you very much,
jakeysmom :D

I'm not sure one way is "better" than another...I can tell you that the school district and the doctor use different eligibility criteria....a child can be diagnosed by a doctor but not in the school distrcit...cuz in the school it has to be educationally relevant. ....and it can work the other way too. Good luck to you!!

My son was diagnosed by his doctor. Then he was sent to an evaluation institute.
