At 4 years old I had surgery on my eyes for lazy eye. My left eye was 20/20, but because of the right eye, it is 20/40 now. My right eye is 20/60 and together I see 20/50. I am 20 years old.
On average, how much does this surgery cost? Under what circumstances would insurance cover it?

Hey
Although I have not personally had lasik eye surgery I know several people who had and insurance did not cover it. They all said that insurance would not cover it for any reason, but you should still check with your insurance company. I hope this helps!

rxqueen,
Only a Lasik eye doctor will be able to tell you for sure whether you are a candidate.

As for whether insurance covers it, mine covered about $600.00 of it. The cost should be high. Mine was $1,599.00 per eye. There are different lasers and each of them costs something different. The least expensive (and oldest) where I got mine done was $699.00 per eye. Just remember, you get what you pay for so, don't go cheap to save some money unless you want to endanger your eyesight.

Go to a Lasik specialist. Maybe go online to lasikplus.com to see if they have an office near you. They are who I got mine through and, maybe I am biased but, they are the best! Hehehe!

Good luck!
