View Full Version : Could it be ADD?

I go to see a therapist next week (first time). I never once thought I might have adult ADD or ADHD? I dont want to try to self-diagnose, however most of the symptoms fit!

Let me give you a little info.

Most of my teen-age years were spent job-hoping & college hoping. Never satisfied, always on to the next thing. I still research colleges & job boards for that next best thing. I used to be very promiscuous. I drank a lot, never home. I always had to be busy doing something (shopping, partying, surfing the net, visiting friends)

Present: Still looking into colleges & new jobs even though I have a great paying job. I am a clean-a-holic! I drive my husband crazy. I have a hard time sitting & watching television & just relaxing in general. Our intimacy level is next to none. I just cant relax. He is sick of me constantly thinking "something is wrong with me" Even though he clearly sees I am very busy doing, doing, doing......

I need to learn more about ADD, but I thought people with ADD were unorganized? Is this always true? I am very organized, and become very angry when things are "not in there place" Clutter irritates me!

I understand that I cant use the healthboards to try to diagnose myself. I just want some feedback from others. Does this sound remotely like ADD?
