question: does the new ephedra free hydroxycut work at all? My husband has some and I have thought of using it. I gained ten pounds after my back surgery two months ago and b/c of my recovery, can't work out to my full potential. Right now all I can really do is walk on the treadmill. So, just wondering if that could give me a little extra boost. Thanks!

I started using Hydroxycut last year to lose weight before vacation. I lost about 25lbs by summer '04... But weight was not the only thing that I lost... I lost sleep too! It incresed my heart rate so much that I would lay in bed at night and feel my heart racing out of control. It actually scared me somtimes, it felt like my heart was going to "explode!" I developed anxiety from using it, but continued to because I was scared to gain back the weight, I was addicted. Finally after one night of getting only about an hour of sleep, I decided to quit taking the pills and compensate by exercising more. Now, in your case, with out being able to excercise at your full potential, I can only suggest to keep doing what you can, eat right, and maybe increase the "little things" you do to say fit. Take the stairs, walk an extra half a mile everyday, drink a lot of water: it will give you more energy to burn during those simple everyday physical activities. Since I stopped using Hydroxycut, I get more sleep, and have more energy to burn not only at the gym, but throughout my day. I am in better all-around shape now. Hope this helps.

was your ephedra-free? I know that it does have a lot of caffeine, but that has never bothered me (well, I can't DRINK it now or it makes me sick, but I can "eat" it). I took one yesterday and one today and have had no problems yet. But, I will stick to my work outs to what I can. I quit smoking and b/c of boredom and that I keep shoving food in my mouth and I was thinking the appetite suppressant in this would help. Oh, it isn't Hydroxycut it is actually Diet-Tech, though made by the same people. We'll see. The first sign of any problems and I'll stop taking it. I appreciate the input!

Hey.. just recently I have taken Diet-Tech & have seen some results. I was only taking two in the morning (I am unable to eat anything once I get to school then work, so I was hoping to avoid stomach growling and whatnot).. it works pretty well as an appetite supressant and I haven't experienced any jittery symptoms like I have with other thermogenics. I've lost 11 pounds between Christmas and about the end of January, but I also just recently quit smoking (2 weeks smoke free!!) so I'm thinking of starting taking it as it directs with hopes of not gaining weight associated with quitting smoking. Anyway, I haven't had any issues with it, but I also haven't been taking the full directed amount. Good Luck & let me know how it's working for you.

caliann, oh please don't get me wrong, I am glad you wrote your experience on it. It helps to know what things could face me. I am seeing my dr about getting back on wellbutrin b/c I think that is why I didn't eat all the time before surgery and when I quit smoking (four months for me!). I would only use this product if I had no bad side effects and until I can start normal workouts. Until I get the okay, I can only walk at a moderate speed on the treadmill and that is IT. nothing else (3.3 mph)
Britt, congrats on your weight loss and quitting the "habit". Keep it up. I'll let you know how i fare. I also had my brace on and fully clothed when I weighed myself. Tomorrow at the doc's I'll take all the heavy stuff off and really weigh myself. For all I know I was also constipated. So, if I am at 135 or less, I will probably stop taking the appetite supressant DIet tech. So far, I have taken two for one day and that is all. Nothing happening bad yet, but I will pay close attention.
Cali, I do thank you again for sharing.

I agree that the original Hydroxycut can make you edgy. I couldn't even get up to the recommended dosage of 3 pills because I would be too jittery. However, I tried the new caffeine-free Hydroxycut and that worked for me. At least it worked the first time anyway. When I went back to it after putting on a few pounds, it just didn't work the same magic. I guess a person's body can adjust to it or become "immune" to it.

I took my brace off and I had gained a pound. I am at 139 now and that really upset me. So, I am on wellbutrin again and my dr said that will def help with me losing weight. I had to stop using the treadmill for now b/c it was making me hurt too much. So, Ihave to wait now until I see him next week, or walk very slowly. I wasn't able to keep taking the diet tech b/c I would simply forget. So, for now I am just dealing with it and hoping some pain goes away so I can do something. It is the fact i had surgery and cannot work out to my full potential that I am truly upset about. Oh well. Thanks for sharing.
