Hi, i've never counted calories in my life and i've lost 15 pounds in the last 6 months but i have no idea how much calories i'm eating. How do you know how to count calories for the unlabeled foods like fruits or when you eat outside on a restaurant.

thanks for all the info i can get :D

research.
Most people who successfully lose weight end up becoming amatuer experts in calories :P

pretty much everything you need to know is at hte following link...

http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_food.html

now you just have to go through it and figure out what all the foods you eat are in calories.

haha, have fun.

I bought a book that told me the calories carbs and fat content. That book became like my weight loss bible. But after awhile i didn't need the book anymore i had pretty much memorized it. I boughy mine at a department store. You probaly could even find one at the grocery store. The book seemed easier than having to look it up on the net.Hope this helps u out. Good Luck...

And most chain restaurants, especially fast food places, have calories for their foods posted on their websites. Just click on "Nutrition." It's amazing how much they vary for a salad or a grilled chicken sandwich. I found Taco Bell and MacDonald's to be surprisingly low, as long as you don't order too much. And most places will let you check the calories of special order items. I highly recommend omitting mayonnaise!

haha, anyone see the movie "super size me" ?

McDonald's is crap. Even though they sell healthy alternatives now (so I'm told) i refuse to eat at a restaurant that has shovelled crap into the mouths of billions for decades now. Yes, sure people choose to eat there, but I'm glad i can also choose not to eat there. And if I have to have a fast food burger, I'll go to burger king (whose marketing is nowhere as evil as McDonalds)

I've always wondered how really really poor people are sometimes severly obese. Then i also notice how even the poorest neighbourhoods all have a McDonalds within walking distance.

No other fast food joint has promoted unhealthy eating like McDonalds, in my opinion! Sure you can eat in moderation there (but really, how many poeple do?), but my objection to McDonalds is the culture they started of shovelling as much crap into your mouth as you can (ie. super size me.)

JoeKerr30,
You should read the book Fast Food Nation.. I recently read it and it has completely changed the way I view fast food (a lot like I've heard Super Size Me does).. anyway, just thought you might like to check it out
